"If you think you can't fall into sexual sin,
then you're godlier than David,
stronger than Samson,
and wiser than Solomon."
Pastor Bill Perkins

There is Hope...

Sun, August 26, 2007 "Is there really help out there?"... that was the entire email sent to us after a radio interview. The following email excerps demonstrate the change that happens when we get linked into a community of healing believers.

Sun 8/26/07  Thanks for responding. I heard you on Living Christian last Tuesday. Don't have any time left tonight. I'll send more soon. I really believe life could be so good if my soul could be fully restored.

Mon 9/03/07  ... You have stirred up that hope again! But with hope comes anxiety that I might be disappointed again. I don't know if disappointment is the right word for what I'm dreading, but I do know that I feel anxious.

Thu 9/13/07  I met with Pastor D and one other attendee to the group tonight at 7:00pm. D is a very realistic and honest individual. I appreciate that. I just got back and found your email. The group discussion seems very safe, for lack of a better word. It was a good discussion to break the ice. So far it is very elementary, although some of the facts that came out were news to me. It touched on some of the emotions we feel during a lifetime of lustful addiction. At least now I know that my story is not at all unlike that of others'.

Sun 9/23/07  This group gives me hope of restoration. I feel that if recovery is possible, as I trust the Son can set people free, this is the place and the program to activate and complete it. The Word says if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed. I've sought that freedom with tears and a cyclical process of hope and despair. The group leaders are admirable for what they are doing. I've learned that no one is perfect. I don't place the weight of successful recovery on their shoulders, but I'm thankful that they are there to lend a helping hand.

Consider these Statistics:

50% of all Christian men and 20% of all Christian women are addicted to pornography.
60% of the women who answered the survey admitted to having significant struggles with lust;
40% admitted to being involved in sexual sin in the past year; and
20% of the church-going female participants struggle with looking at pornography on an ongoing basis.
(Market Wire. August 7, 2006. ChristiaNet.com.December 7, 2006)

51% of pastors say cyber porn is a possible temptation. 37% say it is
a current struggle. Four in ten pastors have visited a porn site.
(Christianity Today, Leadership Survey, December 2001)

1 in 7 calls to Focus' Pastoral Care Line is about Internet pornography.
(Pastor's Family Bulletin, Focus on the Family, March 2000)

The Isolation Trap

Three lies - Three Alones

First, You're alone!

The desires that come into your life aren’t anything new and different. What’s even more important... He will provide a way out!
No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can
stand up under it. (1 Corinthians 10:13)

SecondFight alone!

Find a group, an accountability partner: a trusted friend, pastor or Christian counselor.  Community is the way out!

Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their work:  If one falls down, his friend can help him up. But pity the man who falls and has no one to help him up!

(Ecclesiastes 4:9-10)

Third , Stay alone!

The evil one what's you to isolate, find a group of people that you can join with for support and encouragement.  Remember: Your ENEMY wants to keep you isolated where he can continue to do you harm! The LORD God said, "It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him." (Genesis 2:18)

We are here for YOU ... to Listen without judgment ... to Pray in love ... to Help in any way that we can Contact Us.
